Le Casine di Castello

Castelmuzio, Val d'Orcia, Tuscany

Le Casine di Castello

A smaller house in the same village, for a quieter stay.

Not every house needs a view to be worth staying in. Le Casine di Castello is the second house I kept in Castelmuzio — smaller, simpler, tucked into the same medieval streets as Casa Moricciani, but with its own character. It’s for the traveller who wants to live inside the village itself, not just look at it from a garden.

The house is split into two apartments — Il Cielo, which sleeps four and has its own air conditioning, and Il Nido, a smaller one for two — plus a private terrace where you can sit outside without ever leaving the village. It’s an easy house for families too, not just couples.

Everything within a few steps: the same grocer, the same restaurant, the same slow rhythm of a Tuscan village that hasn’t changed much since I first walked into it in 1998.

  • In the heart of the medieval village of Castelmuzio
  • Private terrace, sleeps up to 6 across two apartments
  • Walking distance to village amenities

Casa Moricciani

Inside the walls of Castelmuzio, with the hills of the Val d'Orcia at your feet.

A house inside the walls of a medieval village, with a view over the hills that still stops me every morning.
